Every aspect of our sustainability
Our contribution through our products
Besides the sustainable aspect of our products, they also have a social aspect, because for each product sold, a part of the profit is donated.
Information about all the organisations we donate to, how this model works and how much has already been donated can be found here.
Info about our corks
Where do we get our corks from?
We obtain our corks from 3 main sources:
Family and Friends
Winegrowers and wine shops in collaborating (mentioned below)
Restaurants in collaboration (mentioned below)
Through this model, not only will all our partners be relieved of the burden of disposing of corks, but we can also ensure that all our products are always made from 100% recycled base materials.
How to support us?
Check out our support section and get in touch with us via the contact form to donate corks.Cork Cooperations
Through numerous cork cooperations and collaborations, Kork JC is in constant contact with suppliers and does not have to fear any bottlenecks. Our cork service
We as Cork JC offer a collection service for the corks in addition to our cooperation.
This means that our cooperation partners do not have to take care of the delivery, but the simple commitment to this cooperation is sufficient.
Cork cooperations
Companies that support us in collecting used corks or selling our products.
Wood
The wood comes from a piece of forest on the outskirts of a small village in Burgenland called Zillingtal.Slatted frame
Slatted frames, mostly collected from households in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, provide a perfect base for our Floats.Green decoration
Our complete decoration consists of seasonal plants. Whether flowers in spring or ivy in winter. Everything is grown regionally and sustainably.
Corks
All the corks used have been specially collected for us and have kept good wines safe before being used in our products.Styrofoam
Styrofoam is a very well-known and popular packaging material. However, it is not exactly known for its sustainability.
But what makes it sustainable is the fact that our styrofoam has been recycled and saved from landfill and thus finds a long-lasting use in our products.
What are SDGs?
The SDGs are global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are divided into 169 sub-goals (targets) and include a new interconnected understanding of poverty, environmental degradation, inequality, production and consumption patterns, corruption, to name just a few examples. It was recognised that different problems need to be addressed everywhere and at the same time and should not be regionally or thematically limited. The universality of the agenda means that all goals apply to all countries. Thus, the responsibility for implementing the goals lies both domestically and internationally. Which SDGs do we actually comply with, and which we do not?
All the coloured SDGs are covered by our economic activities.
We still have some catching up to do on the greyed-out ones.
Click on the images to find out exactly what these goals mean and how we plan to meet new goals.
This goal is covered by our work with organisations such as Teach for Austria and Wiener Tafel.
This goal is covered within Austria by the Wiener Tafel and internationally by Médecins Sans Frontières.
Médecins Sans Frontières is one of, if not the, number one international organisation in this goal.
Teach for Austria, but also through the umbrella organisation Teach for all, ensures that everyone gets the education they want.
Education breaks down old-fashioned gender roles and creates new perspectives. This is where Teach for Austria is crucial.
Médecins Sans Frontières takes care of people's health where it is most urgently needed. In doing so, they also address this problem.
Neither we nor any of our partners are actively involved in this issue. However, we can assure you that the electricity used at Kork-JC is 100% sustainable and green!
Through our cooperation with Transparency Austria and the umbrella organisation Transparency International, political systems as well as projects and organisations that uphold these values are supported and promoted.
We are innovative ourselves, but we do not see this goal as fulfilled, as we are not yet in a position to contribute to the big picture, but unfortunately still have to look after ourselves.
Médecins Sans Frontières, Teach For Austria, Transparency Autria and the Wiener Tafel help to ensure more equality and justice in Austria, but also worldwide.
Teach for Austria not only raise awareness of this issue and educate the solution finders of the future, but also protect plant species at the same time.
We ourselves at Kork-JC produce 100% sustainably, which is why this goal seems colourful.
Recycling and upcycling are the buzzwords at Kork-JC.
We are neither contributing nor harming the oceans. For this reason the target is greyed out
Through ourselves and our Former Partner Noah's Ark, plant species in particular are protected and preserved for future generations.
Transparency Austria and Teach for Asutria ensure a peaceful and just world through education on the one hand, but also through other projects.
At Kork-JC, we exemplify what it means to have partnerships to achieve goals and prove that it couldn't be simpler.
